Minutes- Approximate!
In Attendance: Josh Hetherington, Joy Pickens, Debra Steele, Ammara Khalid, Heather Bates, Paulette Freed, Mudita Rastogi, Lasaundra Gordon, Jayne Kinsman, Kelly Everson, Brian Mizuki, Rebecca Low, David Van Dyke

The lecture and discussion was stimulating and well received. CEU's were made available to all attendees who needed them.
After the discussion there was a brief discussion among the committee members present and it was decided that more work needs to be done in defining the committees and their missions.
The committees that we have begun to define are:
The Outreach Committee
Focusing on marketing, advertising, getting the word out about our special skills and talents as MFTs
Sabita Nandy, Heather Bates, Debra Steele, Elena Kyrgos, Jayne Kinsman
The Licensure Information and Training Committee
Focusing on having the latest information about licensure and developing a training for new MFTs who want to get licensed.
Heather Bates, Anviksha Kalscheur
The Technology Committee
Focusing on how we can best use technology to connect to one another and create a space where ideas and programs can be developed
Rebecca Low, Ammara Khalid, Brian Mizuki, Mari Mallory, Josh Hetherington
The Party Committee
Focusing on developing gatherings where we can feel a sense of community and have some fun, while also networking for professional reasons

Education and Presentations Committee
Focusing on organizing presentations and trainings for the quarterly meetings and other events that would provide CEUs

Mentorship Committee
Focusing on developing mentorship opportunities for new therapists coming into the field

After the recent presentation by Sue Johnson at the IAMFT conference, I am interested in learning the theory. Do you know any other MFTs in the N. Chicago/ Evanston area that would be interested in consulting and going through the "Becoming an Emotionally Focused therapist workbook"? I would love to meet once or twice a month to discuss. I have plenty of room to meet at the Counseling Center in Evanston. Please, e-mail me at jparsons2@sbcglobal.net if interested.
